BLANCA GAMEZ

Blanca Gamez began her career in politics and advocacy as a member of the undocumented community, becoming actively involved in the immigrants' rights movement. She shared her story in the Nevada State Legislature, the halls of Congress, and even in a meeting with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office-demonstrating that being undocumented is not a barrier to civic engagement or advocacy.

Over the years, Blanca has worked with both state and national organizations—including roles with For Our Future, Mi Familia Vota, and others, focusing on electoral campaigns, progressive politics, and public engagement. Most recently, she served as the National Deputy Organizing Director at the American Civil Liberties Union, leading issue-based campaigns to recruit, engage, and mobilize the public while building strategic partnerships with aligned organizations. In addition to her professional work, Blanca has also served in leadership roles as a board member with the Sierra Club Southern Nevada Group, Dream Big Nevada, and Sigma Theta Psi.

She holds two bachelor’s degrees in political science and english, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a master’s degree in public administration and public policy from American University. Though a transplant from Las Vegas, Nevada, she has proudly called Washington, D.C. home her second home for over seven years.
