TEISHA j. garrett
Teisha J. Garrett (she/her) is an experienced strategist, marketer, and manager with over two decades of cross-sector experience spanning government, nonprofit, technology, and political campaigns. She has built a career at the intersection of public service and civic engagement, consistently leading efforts to mobilize communities, advance progressive causes, and build infrastructure for lasting impact.
During the Obama Administration, Teisha served as the White House Liaison at both the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where she facilitated cross-agency coordination, served as the primary liaison to the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, and managed presidential events such as the National Humanities Medal Ceremony.
She has also led fundraising, marketing, and engagement efforts at organizations including Women for Women International, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, EMILY's List, the American Association for Justice, and International Medical Corps. In these roles, she developed integrated fundraising and engagement campaigns spanning digital, direct mail, events, and major donor cultivation.
As President of Run the World Digital, she advised political candidates and progressive organizations on donor strategy and direct mail. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Marketing at Civitech, leading the company's brand, product marketing, communications, and growth strategies to support pro-democracy tech solutions.
Teisha graduated from James Madison University, earning a degree in English with a minor in political communications. Originally from Powhatan, Virginia, she currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area with her spouse. A proud community leader, she has served on the boards of the Alexandria Commission for Women, Virginia's List, and the Vola Lawson Breast Cancer Fund. In her spare time, you can find her cheering on Washington sports teams, devouring books, or perfecting her cupcake recipe.
